* Newly Appointed District Superiors
The newly appointed District Superiors are Sr. Bernadette-Souzanne NGA, District Superior of Cameroon and Sr. Stephanie-Clotilde GOLEMBA, District Superior of Republic of Central Africa. They had their intensive In-service Formation Program in the Generalate from April 23 to 30, 2019. This was given by the General Administration headed by Mother Ma. Goretti, Superior General.
* Re-appointed Major Superiors
The following major Superiors are re-appointed for second term:

Sr. Joanna Marie CHEUNG - Provincial Superior, HONGKONG
Sr. Lilia Therese TOLENTINO - Provincial Superior, PHILIPPINES

* Prayers for our Sisters in the Philippines
Please keep our Sisters in the Philippines uppermost in your prayers these days after 2 strong earthquakes hit the country on Monday and Tuesday. Our Sisters are safe although we cannot yet ascertain the extent of the damage in our local communities and institutions in Zambales and in the provinces around the Metro Manila area.
Let us pray that those who are directly affected remain resilient in the face of this recent calamity and may their most immediate needs be properly addressed through the united efforts of the local churches and the government.
* The Bishops of Kazakhstan visit SPC Generalate
Kazakhstan bishops visit the Generalate after their ad limina in Rome. They are Bishop Athanasius Schneider, O.R.C., Auxiliary Bishop of Maria Santissima in Astana, Bishop José Luís Mumbiela Sierra, Bishop of Santissima Trinità in Almaty and Archbishop Tomasz Bernard Peta, Archbishop of Maria Santissima in Astana.
* Archb. Paul Richard Gallagher gave the Lenten Recollection
Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States within the Holy See's Secretariat of State was the speaker for the March Recollection in the Generalate. His conference was centered on his reflections of the "the Mission of the Church in the World Today. see photos
* 3 SPC young sisters joined the Programme for the Preparation of Formators in Rome
The International Union of Superiors General (UISG) offers a Formation of Formators Programme which runs from February 4 to June 28, 2019 in response to the need for the training of Sisters in formation ministry.
This is participated in by 33 Sisters from 23 religious congregations in 25 countries of different ages and cultures. The sisters from our congregation joining this program are Sr. Nelly SURIYAP (Thailand), Sr. Anna WANG (China) and Sr. Donna Belle CADIGAL (Philippines). The 5-month-long program explores the various dimensions of religious life: human development, religious vows, prayer, mission, interculturality, challenges in religious life and others.
* Korea Musica Sacra Boys' Choir held concert at the Generalate
Korea Musica Sacra Boys' Choir of Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul, had a concert at the Generalate, Chapel on January 3, 2019.
July: Seoul, South Korea
* Sr. Agatha Rita (Young Ryeol) KIM of Seoul Province received the Order of National Merit (Seogryu Medal) from the Korean Government on July 11, 2019. On the 8th anniversary of Population Day in Korea, the Korean Government gave the Seogryu Medals to those who gave an exemplary contribution to dealing with the problem of the low birthrate and aging. Sr. Agatha Rita was highly esteemed for her devotion in caring for the abandoned children.
She worked at the Department of Public Welfare Service in St. Paul Hospital for eight years helping young unmarried mothers who had no means to support their children and a guidance counselor to children at Solsem Nawoori Center for six years. She is also a prime mover at WE CAN Center for the rehabilitation of the disabled for 2 years.
From 2017 to present, Sr. Agatha Rita KIM is taking care of children who are abused by their family at the child Counseling Therapy Center. See photos...
* Sr. Madeleine NGUYEN THI Mot defended her Doctoral Dissertation
Sr. Madeleine Nguyen Thi Mot defended her doctoral dissertation entitled: "Christocentric and Pneumatological Spirituality of St. Paul, Exegetical-Theological Study in the Light of 1 Corinthians 6:11" at Angelicum Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, Rome last May 27, 2019. She belongs to Danang, Vietnam Province.
* Mother General attended UISG Assembly
Mother Ma. Goretti Lee attended the International Union of Superiors General (UISG) Assembly held in Rome from May 6 to 10 which was participated in by more than 820 Superior Generals from 80 countries all over the world. The theme of the assembly was "Sowers of Prophetic Hope." See photos ...
