SPC Philippines Celebrates 110th Foundation Anniversary
Mother General, Mother Ma. Goretti Lee along with Sr. Emily Louise del Castillo, Asst. General, visited the Philippines on the occasion of its 110th Foundation Anniversary.
With Sr. Lilia Thérèse Tolentino, Provincial Superior and Sr. Edna Tagamolila, Asst. Provincial for Pastoral Care, they also went to Culion, Palawan, a former leper colony, where the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres in the Philippines have been serving the lepers since its foundation in 1906 until now. Mother Ma. Goretti also met the old sisters in the Vigil House in Taytay, Rizal and Mère Monique Home in Iloilo City and the young sisters in Formation.
SPC Daegu Province, South Korea: Celebrates SPC Day
Daegu Province in South Korea, celebrated “The Day of SPC” on October 9, 2014 as the Council of Province’s decided last year for the Koinonia and Oneness of all the Sisters in the Province. The theme of the celebration was ‘Alive in the Word and Let us be the Light.’
There were several events held on that day, namely: photo exhibition on the history of the Province, charity bazaar from which proceeds will go to the mission countries adopted by Daegu Province, St. Paul Live Café, mini-olympics among the sisters and Eucharistic celebration.
There were two meaningful moments that happened during the Mass. In the offertory, there was the ‘Word Tree’ offering where the sisters put their biblical texts that impressed them most, fruits of their reflection which they have meditated upon for the whole year.

SPC USA: Groundbreaking of the Extension of Bishop Noa Home
A groundbreaking ceremony for the extension of Bishop Noa Home for the elderly was timely held during the visit of Mother General.
Mother General, Mother Maria Goretti Lee visited Laos and Thailand. In her visit to Laos, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres and the Government was renewed for 5 years.
This MOU permits the Sisters to continue their ministry in Laos of uplifting the condition of the disabled young adult by giving them special skills and training. This will enable them to find livelihood after they graduate from the Center of Education for the Disabled run by the SPC in Laos.

Amidst, the political crisis that continues to beset Central Africa, the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres continue to administer to the Central African people their ministry of presence, teaching, health care and pastoral ministry.
The recent visit of Mother General, Mother Maria Goretti Lee and her Assistant, Sr. Emily Louise del Castillo, encouraged more the sisters to keep alive their missionary charism.

Sr. Teresa Punnachet, giving recollection to her grade school pupils in St. Francis Xavier Convent, Bangkok, Thailand. Like in any SPC Apostolate all over the world, journeying with the young is a path of God's love that brings life-giving experience to the young people that the SPC are ministering.
